Do you want to be counted as a Serb?

Штампа

The Census Bureau has changed the way it conducts the national count.

In the past, most households received a shortform questionnaire, while one household in six received a long form that contained additional questions and provided more detailed socioeconomic information about the population.

The 2010 Census will be a short-form only census and will count all residents living in the United States as well as ask for name, sex, age, date of birth, race, ethnicity, relationship and housing tenure – taking just minutes to complete.

How to fill in the Census form to reflect your Serbian ancestry?

The first person in the household filling in the Census 2010 form will answer the Question 9 as it shows below:

Census2010

IF a household has more than one person, second, third, fourth, fifth, and sixth person will answer the Question 6 the same way as above.

Historic chance to find out the number of Serbs in the USA. All these years we are guessing… 1 million… 2 million Serbs in the United States… No one knows…

Spread the word! Let’s get counted! It does not cost a thing and it is completely confi dential. Even if you are not a US citizen you still need to fi ll in the Census form.

Answer the Question 9 or 6 (What is your race?) in the Census form: You can mark multiple answers and you have to write in SERBIAN

And YES, we know that Serbian is not a race, but the short form does not give us any other option.
